50th anniversary of the Austrian State Treaty
In the center of the Obverse are represented the seals and signatures of the Austrian State Treaty, which was signed by the Austrian foreign minister Leopold Figl and by the ambassadors and foreign ministers of the United States, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom and France. In the background the design of the Austrian flag. At the top right is engraved the inscription "50 JAHRE STAATSVERTRAG", while at the bottom left is the date of minting. On the outer ring are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the old common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European Union (before its enlargement) on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with the inscription "2 EURO***" in incuse (repeated four times, alternately from bottom to top and vice versa) and twelve five-pointed stars.
