100 years since the beginning of World War I
On the Obverse, in the middle of the coin, is the inscription with the years '2014-18', above it is a poppy (a flower symbolising the fallen in war) and immediately below it is the inscription 'The Great War Centenary'. Above, in an arc, the inscription 'BELGIQUE - BELGIE - BELGIEN', and below the inscription the mint mark of the Brussels mint on the right and the mintmaster's mark on the left. On the outer part are the 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value '2' on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription 'EURO'. Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with six '2' in incuse (repeated alternately from bottom to top and vice versa) and twelve five-pointed stars.

150 years Belgium Red Cross
The Obverse depicts a cross bearing in the centre the number '150', horizontally the inscription 'CROIX ROUGE' and vertically the inscription 'RODE KRUIS'. Surrounding the cross are the symbol of the director of the Brussels Mint on the upper left and the mint mark on the right; below on the left the initials 'BE' identifying Belgium and on the right the minting year '2014'. On the outer part are the 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union.
