1 eurocent Finland
The Obverse depicts the Heraldic Lion, symbol of the Finnish state, with the minting year to the left. On the outer part 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. In the coins minted from 1999 to 2006, there is the symbol M under the hilt of the sword at the foot of the lion, indicating the mintmaster Makkonen Raimo. On the 2007 coins, the mintmark (changed to a cornucopia) was moved next to the minting year, while the FI sign was placed under the lion. In the issues from 2008 to 2010 the sign returns under the hilt (still the cornucopia), while from 2012 the design was changed again and it was placed to the right of the lion. The coin's Reverse is the common side of Euro coins, with the face value "1 EURO CENT" and the image of Europe's place in the world. Six diagonal lines with a star at each end are placed behind the globe.
