On the Obverse, the representation of the Sower, a symbolic figure already recurring in earlier French coinage. On the right the initials RF, Repubblique Francaise, and the signature of the author, vertically inside two of the lines symbolising the flag of France, on the left the minting year with the mintmark underneath. To the right, below the initials RF, is the (variable) symbol of the mintmaster. Along the edge 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the old common side of Euro coins, with the face value "10 EURO CENT" on the center-right part and the European Union (before its enlargement) on the left. Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
