2 Euro Commemorative coins France 2019
60 years since the creation of Asterix
The Obverse, in the centre of the coin, features a portrait of Asterix (the famous protagonist of the French comic series of the same name), facing to the right. At the top is the arched inscription 'ASTERIX' with the initials 'RF' (Republique Francaise) underneath. At the bottom is the circular inscription "LX ANS MMXIX" (60 YEARS 2019), divided by the minting year written in digits and smaller in size. On the left, between the inscription and the design, the mint mark and the symbol of the mintmaster can be seen. Along the inner edge are engraved two motifs formed, in the upper part, by a series of dots and, in the lower part, by two entwined laurel wreaths. On the outer part are the 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.

30 years since the Fall of the Berlin Wall
The Obverse depicts the Berlin Wall with a gap in the middle; the gap is crossed by a jubilant crowd with their hands raised to the sky and a flight of doves (a symbol of peace), while the Brandenburg Gate is depicted in the background. On the left side of the Wall are engraved the inscriptions '30 ANS DE LA CHUTE DU MUR DE BERLIN' and '30 JAHRE MAUERFALL' ('30 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall' in French and German). At the bottom, overlapped on the design, are, in the centre, the minting year (enclosed between the mint mark and the mintmaster's symbol) and, on the right, the initials 'RF' (Republique Francaise). On the outer part are the 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO".
