2 Euro Commemorative coins France 2021
75 years since the foundation of UNICEF
The Obverse depicts an allegory of UNICEF's commitment to all the world's children: two large hands support the globe, while other smaller hands connect the different parts of the Earth. In the upper part, the circular inscription 'UNICEF' is engraved, followed by the organisation's motto 'POUR CHAQUE ENFANT' ('For Every Child'); immediately below the 'UNICEF' inscription, are the years '1946-2021', written in an arc. The design is completed by two intertwined olive branches, one whole on the left, close to the border, while of the second, on the right, only a few leaves can be glimpsed. At the bottom, overlapped by the design, is the inscription '75 ANS', flanked on the right, in the space free from the design, by the initials 'RF' (Republique Francaise) with the symbols of the Paris mint and the author below. On the outer part are the 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with six "2" in incuse (repeated alternately from bottom to top and vice versa) and twelve five-pointed stars.
Diameter: 25,75 mm
Thickness: 2,20 mm

Paris Olympics 2024: the race
The Obverse depicts, in the foreground, the Marianne (a symbolic figure of France and an icon of the nation's numismatics), wearing the Phrygian cap (emblem of the French Revolution, with which she is often depicted on the coins of the Republic), in the act of running, in a style reminiscent of the Olympic Games held in antiquity. The image of the Marianne is overlapped by a portion of the Eiffel Tower, while an athletics track is drawn in the background, on the left side of which is the 'Paris 2024' logo. At the bottom, under the arch of the Eiffel Tower, is the initials 'RF' (Republique Francaise), with the minting year underneath, between the symbol of the Paris Mint and that of the author. This coin is the first in a series that the Monnaie de Paris is dedicating to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where a combination of Parisian heritage and French numismatic heritage will be represented.
