French Franc coins
The Franc was established as the official currency of the new French Republic in 1795, after the French Revolution, and remained legal tender for over two centuries, until the introduction of the Euro on 1 January 2002.
The currency was also previously present in the monarchic period, between 1360 and 1641, with its value set as one Livre Tournois, which was the official currency.
