Coins of Ireland
The Republic of Ireland declared its independence from the United Kingdom in 1922, and from 1927 began to mint coins in its own currency, the Irish Pound, which initially had an exchange ratio of 1:1 with the British Pound. In 1979 were issued new coins with different designs, and the link between Irish Pound and British Pound was broken, introducing a new exchange rate. The circulation of the Pound ended in 2002, when it was replaced by the Euro.
The Irish coins are all minted by the Dublin National Mint, which does not stamp any mint mark on the coins.
