2 Euro Commemorative coins Italy 2015
Universal Exposition Expo 2015 in Milan
The Obverse depicts a design that is intended to symbolise the fertility of the Earth: above a semicircle, representing the globe, a seed is identified that is going to germinate after having been nourished by water, with next to it a vine leaf with its cluster, an olive branch and an ear of corn, all three springing from the same trunk. At the top is the circular inscription "NUTRIRE IL PIANETA" (Nourish the Planet), while on the right, between the design and the inscription, is the monogram of the Italian Republic. Also on the right, below the monogram, is the mintmark "R" and on the left is the author's initials "MGU". At the bottom of the coin, inside the semicircle, the logo of the "EXPO MILANO 2015" exhibition is placed on two lines. On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.

750 years since the birth of Dante Alighieri
On the Obverse, in the foreground, is Dante Alighieri holding the Divine Comedy in his left hand, while in the background can be seen the mountain of Purgatory (detail from the painting "Allegoria della Divina Commedia" by the painter Domenico di Michelino). Above, on the left, is the circular inscription "DANTE ALIGHIERI" with the monogram of the Italian Republic immediately below. To the right is the mintmark "R", while the author's initials "SP" appear at bottom left. Also at the bottom, in the centre, are the dates "1265" and "2015", written one below the other. On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". 30th Anniversary of the European Union flag
The Obverse, in the centre of the coin, depicts the flag of the European Union surrounded by twelve human figures into which the twelve stars have been symbolically transformed, representing the creation of a new Europe. The design was selected through an internet vote by the citizens of the European Union. At the top is the circular inscription "REPUBBLICA ITALIANA" followed on the right by the years "1985-2015" written in an arc. Also on the right, between the design and the years, is the mintmark "R", while further down are the author's initials. On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO".
