175th anniversary of the Independence of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
The Obverse depicts, on the right, the right-facing profile of His Royal Highness Grand Duke Henri, while on the left, divided by a vertical line extending to the outer part of the coin, the year "1839", the minting year "2014" enclosed between the mintmark (at the bottom) and the mintmaster's mark (at the top) and the inscription "LËTZEBUERG" are engraved, again vertically. At the bottom, also placed below a horizontal line extending to the outer crown, are the inscriptions "ONOFHÄNGEGKEET" and "175 Joër". On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with six "2" in incuse (repeated alternately from bottom to top and vice versa) and twelve five-pointed stars.

50th anniversary of Grand Duke Jean Accession to the Throne
The Obverse depicts the profiles of Their Royal Highnesses Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duke Jean, both facing to the left. Above the two images is a crown, while only above the portrait of Grand Duke Jean is the year "1964". The minting year "2014" enclosed between the mintmark (on the right) and the mintmaster's mark (on the left) are engraved in the lower part, and below the respective effigies are the names of Their Royal Highnesses "Jean" and "Henri" (which partially extend into the outer crown). Along the entire inner rim is the circular inscription "50e ANNIVERSAIRE DE L'ACCESSION AU TRÔNE DU GRAND-DUC JEAN". On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union.
