100 years since the birth of Jean, Grand Duke of Luxembourg
The Obverse depicts the effigies of Grand Duke Jean, on the left, and Grand Duke Henri, on the right; next to each portrait is the name of each Grand Duke, written vertically. In addition, next to the effigy of Grand Duke Jean, is the year of his birth "1921", written horizontally. Near the inner edge, from left to top, is the circular inscription "GROUSSHERZOGE VU LËTZEBUERG" (Grand Duke of Luxembourg). At the bottom, below the portraits, is a view of the city of Luxembourg, which, on the right, extends partially into the outer crown, as does the minting year, placed inside the reproduction. On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union, also on either side of the star at the bottom, are the Luxembourg mintmark on the right and the Dutch mintmark on the left (there are two variants with regard to the mint symbols: on the BU coincard and BU sets there is the mark of the Dutch mint and the symbol of the Dutch mint director, while on the mint sets Proof there is the mark of the Luxembourg mint and the symbol of the Dutch mint director). The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with six "2" in incuse (repeated alternately from bottom to top and vice versa) and twelve five-pointed stars.

40 years since the wedding of Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg and Maria Teresa, Grand Duchess of Luxembourg
The Obverse depicts the effigies of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Theresa. In the lower part, superimposed on the portraits, is the date of the marriage "14 FEBRUAR 1981", followed by two wedding rings; the rings are flanked by the minting year, placed slightly higher and partly in the outer crown. Further down, immediately below the inscription and the wedding rings, is the inscription "LËTZEBUERG", which extends partially into the outer crown.
