Monégasque Euro coins
Monégasque Euro coins had initially (until 2005) four distinct subjects on the obverse, namely the Coat of Arms of Monaco for the values of 1 2 and 5 cents, the Seal of Monaco for the 10 20 and 50 cent pieces, the effigies of Prince Rainier III and Prince Albert in the 1 Euro coin and the portrait of Prince Rainier III in the 2 Euro coin.
Since 2006 a second series has been issued, which features the Coat of Arms of the Principality on the values of 1 2 and 5 cents, slightly varying some details of the design, while in the 10 20 and 50 cents is engraved the monogram Prince Albert II, and in the 1 and 2 Euro coins is depicted the portrait of the new Sovereign Prince.
All coins are minted by the French mint of Pessac.
