150 years of Public Security (PSP)
The Obverse depicts a stylised design representing urban areas with their inhabitants, where the Portuguese Public Security Police operates. Above, in the centre, are engraved the initials "PSP" and the symbol of the Portuguese Police. On the left is the circular inscription "1867-2017 SEGURANÇA PÚBLICA" (1867-2017 Public Security), where the year of foundation and the minting year are specified. In the lower part, written in an arc, are the mintmark "INCM", the name of the author "JOSÉ DE GUIMARÃES" and the name of the issuing country "PORTUGAL". On the right-hand side of the coin are engraved the three fundamental bases of citizenship 'DIREITOS', 'LIBERDADES' and 'GARANTIAS' (rights, freedoms and guarantees). On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with 7 castles and 5 heraldic coats of arms in incuse.

The Obverse depicts the portrait of Raul Brandão (Portuguese journalist and writer). Above is engraved in an arc the author's name "LUIS FILIPE DE ABREU" followed by the mintmark "INCM". To the left is the three-line inscription "RAUL BRANDAO" with immediately below it, the year of birth "1867" and the minting year "2017", written one below the other. To the bottom right, superimposed on the image, is the circular inscription "PORTUGAL". On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union.
