Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union
The Obverse depicts a Cartesian plane, where a series of lines radiate from the point of origin (the design is intended to represent the link between the capital of Portugal and other European capitals). Superimposed on the lines is the four-line inscription "PRESIDÊNCIA DO CONSELHO DA UNIÃO EUROPEIA PORTUGAL 2021" (PRESIDENCY OF THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION PORTUGAL 2021). Along the upper part of the ordinate axis are: on the left, the name of the Portuguese mint "CASA DA MOEDA" and, on the right, that of the author "EDUARDO AIRES". On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.

Participation in the Summer Olympics Tokyo 2020
The Obverse depicts the logo of the Olympic Committee of Portugal (formed by the Portuguese Cross of the Order of the Knights of Christ and a flagpole) and the five Olympic rings. Along the entire edge of the inner part of the coin is the circular inscription "2021 PORTUGAL NOS JOGOS OLIMPICOS DE TOQUIO ’20". On the left-hand side, near the inscription on the inner part, can be seen, separated by a dash: the name of the Portuguese mint "CASA DA MOEDA" and the signature of the author "F. PROVIDÉNCIA", written in an arc and opposite the inscription.
