Coins of San Marino
The Republic of San Marino is a small state which is completely surrounded by Italy, a country with it has bilateral relations that also concern the use of money, with the equivalence of the San Marino Lira (introduced in 1864), the Italian Lira and the Vatican Lira, currencies that were legal tender in all 3 states. After the introduction of the Euro, San Marino adopted the European currency, even if it's not member of the European Union, by virtue of the agreements with Italy and has issued its own series of coins since 2002.
All Sammarinese coins are minted by the italian Mint of Rome.
