2 Euro Commemorative coins Republic of San Marino 2015
750 years since the birth of Dante Alighieri
The Obverse, in the centre of the coin, depicts the profile of Dante Alighieri taken from a fresco by Sandro Botticelli. To the right of the portrait, within a box, is the vertical inscription "DANTE", while further to the right is the circular inscription "SAN MARINO"; for both the name of the poet and that of the issuing country, the lettering style used was inspired by lettering in the first copies of the Divina Commedia. Between the two inscriptions are engraved, from top to bottom, the mintmark "R", the years "1265" and "2015" and finally the author's initials "AM". On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with six "2" in incuse (repeated alternately from bottom to top and vice versa) and twelve five-pointed stars.

25 years of German Unity
The Obverse, in the centre of the coin, depicts the Brandenburg Gate, represented as two hands in the act of intertwining to symbolise the reunification of Berlin and the entire nation. Around the design, at the top and to the right, is the circular inscription "25° ANNIVERSARIO DELLA RIUNIFICAZIONE DELLA GERMANIA 1990-2015" on two lines; also on the right, outside the inscription, is the mintmark "R". On the left are the author's initials "ES" followed, at the bottom, by the arched inscription "SAN MARINO MMXV".
