500 years since the birth of Tintoretto
The Obverse depicts a detail of Tintoretto's work "Visitation" (the embrace between the Holy Virgin and Elizabeth). In the upper part of the coin, on the left, is the circular inscription "SAN MARINO" with the mintmark "R" near the letter "A" of "SAN". At the bottom is the arched inscription "TINTORETTO" and, again at the bottom, inside the image, are the years "1518" and "2018" written one below the other. At the bottom left, between the design and the edge, are the author's initials "LDS". On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with six "2" in incuse (repeated alternately from bottom to top and vice versa) and twelve five-pointed stars.

420 years since the birth of Gian Lorenzo Bernini
The Obverse, in the centre of the coin, depicts the work 'Bust of Costanza Bonarelli' by the sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini, currently conserved in the Museo Nazionale del Bargello in Florence. On the left are the circular inscription "SAN MARINO", near the edge, and the years "1598" and "2018", written one below the other between the inscription and the image. On the right are the arched inscription "BERNINI", along the edge, and the mintmark "R", between the inscription and the design. Also on the right, at the bottom, are the author's initials "A.M.".
