The Obverse depicts the profile of Federico da Montefeltro, a detail from the work 'Double Portrait of the Dukes of Urbino' (diptych, oil on panel) by the artist Piero della Francesca, conserved in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Near the inner edge, the circular inscriptions "SAN MARINO" on the left and "PIERO della FRANCESCA" on the right are engraved. Also on the right, in the space between the inscription and the image, are placed one below the other: the years "1492" and "2022", the mintmark "R" and the author's initials "C.M.". On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with six "2" in incuse (repeated alternately from bottom to top and vice versa) and twelve five-pointed stars.

200 years since the death of Antonio Canova
The Obverse, in the centre of the coin, depicts the sculpture of the goddess Hebe, daughter of Zeus and Hera, by the artist Antonio Canova and conserved in the Museums of San Domenico in Forlì. Near the inner edge are the circular inscriptions "SAN MARINO" on the right and "CANOVA" on the left. In the space between the inscriptions and the image are: on the left, the year "1822" and, on the right, the minting year with the mintmark "R" underneath. At the bottom, on the left, the author's initials "A.V." can be seen. On the outside part are placed 12 five-pointed stars, representing the European Union.
