Republic of San Marino - old coinage Lira coins
The period known as "Old Coinage" is composed by two different series of coins, the first minted in the second half of the nineteenth century and included the values of 5, 10 (in copper) and 50 cents (in silver), as well as the 1 2 and 5 lire pieces (all minted in silver) and finally the two highest values, 10 and 20 lire, made of gold (the 20 lire were minted in a later period, more precisely in 1925). In 1931 a new agreement was stipulated between the Republic of San Marino and the Kingdom of Italy, and the mint of Rome coined a new serie for the small republic, which included the values of 5 and 10 cents (in copper) and the higher values, 5 10 and 20 lire (all minted in silver).
