20th anniversary of the Start of the Velvet Revolution
The Obverse depicts a stylised bell made up by a series of keys, commemorating the demonstration on 17 November 1989, in which citizens marched waving bunches of keys, the event marked the beginning of the "Velvet Revolution" in the former Czechoslovakia. In the lower arc is the inscription "SLOVENSKO", with the engraver's signature and the mintmark "MK" above it. In the upper half, also in an arc, the inscription "17. NOVEMBER SLOBODA DEMOKRACIA" and immediately below it "1989-2009". On the outer part 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with the inscription "SLOVENSKÁ REPUBLIKA" and two stars interspersed with a lime leaf.

Ten years of Economic and Monetary Union
On the Obverse, the centre of the coin features a design representing a stylised figure merging with the Euro symbol. The subject was chosen through an online competition in which citizens of the European Union participated. At the top is the arched inscription "SLOVENSKO", at the bottom, also in an arc, the inscription "HMÚ 1999-2009". Above the inscription, towards the right, the author's signature. To the left of the design is the mintmark "MK". On the outer part 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union.
