25th anniversary of the establishment of the Slovak Republic
The Obverse depicts a design symbolising Slovakia's entry into the European Union and the euro area, composed as follows: a large stylised arch is crossed by a map of Slovakia and the euro symbol, surrounded by the stars of the European Union and positioned immediately above the map. Outside the design is, on the left, the coat of arms of the Slovak Republic followed, at the bottom, by the circular inscription "SLOVENSKÁ REPUBLIKA". On the bottom right, inside the arch, immediately below the map, the author's initials "PK" with the mintmark "MK", the date of the Constitution of the Slovak Republic "1.1.1993" and the minting year are engraved on three lines. On the outer part 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
Edge: finely milled, with the inscription "SLOVENSKÁ REPUBLIKA" and two stars interspersed with a lime leaf.
