30th Anniversary of the European Union flag
The Obverse, in the centre of the coin, depicts the flag of the European Union surrounded by twelve human figures into which the twelve stars have been symbolically transformed, representing the creation of a new Europe. The design was selected through an internet vote by the citizens of the European Union. At the top is the circular inscription "SLOVENIJA" followed, towards the right, by the years "1985-2015" written in an arc. Also on the right, further down are the author's initials. On the outer part 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO".
