25th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Slovenia
On the Obverse, an oblique line is visible on the left side of the coin. Above, in the centre, is the inscription "25 LET" (25 years), where the number is engraved in larger font; immediately below, on the right, is the inscription "REPUBLIKA SLOVENIJA" written on two lines. The inscription is followed by the words, which partially extend into the outer part, "dočákat' dan" from the poem "Zdravljica" by the poet France Prešeren, the Slovenian national anthem since 1990 (the phrase is written in the poet's original handwriting). The minting year can be seen at the bottom. On the outer part 12 five-pointed stars, symbol of the European Union. The coin's Reverse is the new common side of Euro coins, with the face value "2" on the left and the European continent on the right, overlapped by the inscription "EURO". Six vertical lines with a star at each end are placed behind the Europe's image.
